Museum of Local History "Bessarabian Village Frumushyka-Nova"

Local Lore Museum of the Center for Ethnographic, Rural Green Tourism, and Family Recreation "Frumushika-Nova"
Frumushika-Nova village, Bolhrad Raion, Odesa Oblast

The museum was established in 2008 on the initiative of Oleksandr Andriyovych Palariyev, the head of "Borodino - A" Production and Commercial Firm LLC, which is involved in sheep breeding, meat and brіnza cheese production, viticulture, horticulture, beekeeping, and tourism.

The core collection comprises 386 museum items. The exposition features diverse exhibits collected in the adjacent villages of the Bolhrad and Izmail raions of Odesa Oblast. These include tools, household items, samples of furniture, clothing, and fine art.

An integral part of the economic-ethnographic and tourist complex is the open-air ethnographic museum "Bessarabian Village Frumushika-Nova". In the newly created village, traditional Moldovan, Gagauz, Jewish, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, and German houses with farmsteads were specially constructed.

Given the social interest of the creators of these expositions in preserving and properly conveying objects of museum significance, one can speak of a respectful attitude towards the various cultures of the region.

For this project, photographic materials were used, which were taken during the historical and ethnographic expeditions of 2001–2003 and 2007–2009 (led by Candidate of Historical Sciences V. V. Solodova) to the former German colonies of the Black Sea region – in villages of the Odesa and Mykolaiv Oblasts.
The Virtual Museum of the Black Sea Germans is supported by the European Union under the House of Europe programme.
