Museum "T. H. Shevchenko and the Spiritual Revival of Ukraine", Bazarynka village

The Museum "T. H. Shevchenko and the Spiritual Revival of Ukraine" at Bazarynka General Education School
Bazarynka village, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi Raion, Odesa Oblast

The museum was established in 1989 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Bazarynka village's founding by German colonists who originated from Swabia. The museum's collection numbers 514 inventory items and includes a collection of rushnyky (embroidered towels), clothing samples, a selection of household items, books, and more. The museum’s holdings determined the exhibition sections, which focus on the village’s history, the work of T. H. Shevchenko, and the literary Budzhak region. Literary local lore, showcased through the museum’s exhibits, reflects the unique characteristics of the Budzhak region’s settlement and development. This is characterized by a diverse ethnic composition, making it one of modern Ukraine’s most distinctive regions in linguistic, cultural, and geographical terms.
