Artsyz Historical and Local Lore Museum
The Artsyz Museum of History and Local Lore was opened in 1977. Its initiator and first director was a true devotee and activist—history teacher Dmytro Mykolaiovych Cherbadzhy.
Established during the Soviet era, the museum has changed its exhibitions numerous times. Throughout this, the section dedicated to the city's history has remained unchanged. The multi-ethnic character of the district, rich in historical content, allowed the museum to constantly replenish its collection with new acquisitions, renew and supplement existing sections, and create new ones. Household items, domestic utensils, agricultural implements, documents, and photographs made it possible to create exhibition complexes that reflect the material and spiritual culture of Ukrainians, Bulgarians, Moldovans, and Germans.
The latest re-exposition took place in 2021. That year saw the introduction of new thematic exhibitions, such as "Scytho-Slavic," "Along the Paths of German Colonists," "Das Buch des Lebens" (The Book of Life), "Lutum" (Clay Products), and an exhibition dedicated to the Russo-Ukrainian War.
As of today, the total number of items stands at 8,436, including 4,891 units in the main fund. Thanks to its research staff, the museum maintains an active civic stance; this is the only explanation for its growing popularity and relevance.
